Unpacking To Be Rebuilt

Even before we’d arrived we had heard about the miracles going on at the TEAMS meetings and we knew that we were going to experience the miraculous during our mission trip.

My third trip to Uganda has already been filled with great experiences and although I’m coming in a new capacity arriving at Entebbe airport, driving up to Gulu and seeing the staff on site makes me feel very much at home.

Even before we’d arrived we had heard about the miracles going on at the TEAMS meetings and we knew that we were going to experience the miraculous during our mission trip.

Today’s focus of the mission for me was the VHT teaching with the team and we had a truly great time. From teaching patient and local community engagement, teaching on cancer and teaching on sexual health and HIV we had a packed session with lots of interaction and engagement from the VHTs! We had a powerful time of worship and healing at the end as we prayed and worshipped over the VHTs with healing of eye sight and leg pain! Praise God!!!

The scriptures shared during our hotel devotional today were:

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬ and “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This requires us to unpack ourselves in the presence of God, whether it’s giving thanks to God, laying our burdens before God, giving him your supplications or praising God. This enables us to be emptied, malleable to be shaped and moulded by God. In this place of openness to God it allows Jesus to go in and restore or increase the joy of His salvation in us.

I pray that we all surrender our thoughts, supplications, worries, thanksgiving to God and allow Him to restore and increase in us the joy of his salvation, Amen.
