Hey my friends,

This is Amit from TEAMS and we have finally arrived in Gulu! We arrived safely after a mammoth 16 hour journey from London and I personally am glad to be here.

As I touched down I felt like I have come home, of course my parents were born in Uganda so possibly this is a return for one of Uganda’s own. We have spent some time in the markets and that has helped us as a TEAM grasp some of the culture in Gulu, but I am sure we have plenty more to learn and understand. One thing that strikes me is the openness of smiles of the local people. London can really learn from these people!

We had a meeting with Sports Outreach Ministry today and we got to understand that they have a full outreach program for youth and sports which is wonderful to see. Their ethos is to build people to know Christ better and we can say that there is common ground there!

I briefly shared a devotional in the early afternoon to kick start the mission and what emerged is that we need to soak before we can give. Ministry is the overflow of what gives us and that is our commitment as a team to the people of Gulu.
