The Agape Child Support programme is a project that funds the education of children predominantly from orphaned backgrounds through sponsorship. The funds go towards school fees, uniforms, scholastic materials and medical support. The Agape programme first began back in 2001 with just 3 orphaned girls. Since 2005 there have been over 30 children receive from the programme. Some are no longer with us due to a change in their personal circumstances.
As of last year Agape had its first ‘graduate’ from the programme. Her name is Brenda Oyella age: 20 years. She has been with Agape since 2005 and has now completed her education from primary up to college. She has just finished her studies at catering school and is now looking to pursue a career in this area. This is such a wonderful achievement to come out of this project, where a child’s life has evidently been empowered through the sponsorship programme.
Another student from Agape will begin their studies at University later this year; this is also another first for programme!
