This year for the mission there has been a spiritual theme of unpacking and rebuilding. Today I was led to speak on Nehemiah 4:17-18. It details how the people of Israel rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem together as a team, each looking out for one another. This shows that as we as individuals and also as a team rebuild after God has unpacked what He needs to, we should be ever vigilant against the attacks of the enemy; as it says in the Bible the enemy comes as a roaring lion to seek whom he can devour. However we need not be alone in this, as we have friends and the rest of the team to look out for each other.
Today I went on a hospital visitation with the Uganda team and it was refreshing to go and pray for the people who are very sick, instead of just treating them (as I have worked in hospital in the past). There were 7 salvations in our time with the patients! And the afternoon was spent with the youth leaders of Gulu encouraging and empowering them into new things for this area of the ministry, which is exciting for the Kingdom!
I have also been blessed to carry out dental work for the leaders of TEAMS church, the GL12 and also TEAMS Staff. This has also been an opportunity for me to minister to the people I have had the pleasure of treating and seeing. It has reinforced in me that health is not just physical but spiritual too and I have been able to look after the whole person in that regard, with this understanding. It has been a fantastic time!
