2 Trustees of TEAMS visited Gulu Referral Hospital (GRH) at the end of February to hand over aid they had been given to bring with them on their latest visit to Uganda to help the hospital.
As can be seen from the pictures, the chairman’s wife, Rosalind actually had a broken foot so had needed the wheelchair to traverse Heathrow, Nairobi and Entebbe airports on the way to Gulu!
Our Lord continued to heal her broken bones so that before she returned home she was able to gift her crutches to a member of TEAMS’s church congregation, Bernard, who was in great need.
The surgical ward at GRH only had one antiquated (and seriously unsafe) wheelchair so the Doctors and staff were overjoyed to receive this gift from TEAMS.
We also donated several packets of incontinence pads, 7 stout walking sticks, 2 pairs of crutches, several pairs of spectacles (glasses) to the thrilled and excited eye department, a Spirometer and some pens for the staff, all were received with much delight.
We may complain about the NHS in the UK being underfunded, but once you have seen how Ugandan hospitals manage, you would never grumble again! We are so blessed to have such a fantastic National Health System in the UK.
Our heartfelt thanks to all those supporters who made this happen.
